Principal s Message

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Manuel F. Hernandez Elementary School!  We are excited to start another school year.  We are pleased that you are with us and look forward to an exciting year of learning together.  This year we will be fully implementing the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), which will better prepare our students for college and careers and will be a learning process for staff, parents, and students.  Be sure to read the section on curriculum for more information regarding CCSS in the Student/Parent Handbook.

We believe every child can achieve academic success.  We also believe that communication between school and home are important to achieving this goal. I encourage you to partner with us as we educate children together. There is much research that indicates the degree to which we, as parents are involved and interested in school, the more children achieve

I look forward to an activity-filled year, of getting to know all of the parents and families of Manuel F. Hernandez School.  As we work together during the year, I invite you to stay in contact and let me know how you and your child are experiencing school. If you have any questions or concerns as the year progresses, please do not hesitate to contact me, your child’s teacher or the school office.  Through teamwork, open communication, and a dedication to continuous improvement, we can make Manuel F. Hernandez a place children delight in and where they enjoy learning.
